Welcome! I’m Angela Browne
Trauma-Focused Therapist and Yoga Teacher…

and I am so very glad that you’re here.

I’m a Michigan native and a proud Spartan (go Green!), with a B.S. in Family Community Services & Childhood Development and an M.S.W. in Clinical Social Work. In grad school, I volunteered at local shelters and I started providing therapy as an intern at a domestic violence shelter. That’s where my passion for trauma-centered work first took hold.

After graduating from graduate school, I spent eight years as an outpatient therapist in community mental health, working with people of all ages and backgrounds—individuals, families, and groups—and I noticed trauma showed up for all of my clients in one form or another. Since then I’ve completed certifications and trainings in trauma-focused approaches, attachment, mindfulness, and mood disorders.

I believe healing looks different for everyone, so I bring curiosity and openness to each person’s unique journey. I also like to integrate movement into therapy and incorporate my experience as a certified yoga teacher, so I can offer a holistic approach with body-informed tools alongside talk therapy. If you prefer a calm, practical, or more creative approach, I’ll tailor our work to fit what feels right for you.

My Other Parts…

I am a woman who identifies with she/her/hers pronouns. I am a mother, a wife, a daughter, a sister, a friend, a fur and feather mama, a sourdough extremist, an advocate, an ally, and a cup-filler. When I’m not meeting with clients, I do work full-time for a non-profit, training school mental health professionals in CBT and Mindfulness so that they can provide evidence-based and culturally responsible mental health care to their students.

I am an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys spending time in nature during all of Michigan’s seasons. I am an extroverted introvert who has no boundaries with exhausting myself socially. I loathe cleaning and organizing but love the euphoria that follows. Any free time I have is typically spent in my kitchen cultivating and creating dishes and baked goods for my family, and I run long distances for “fun”.

I honor my health in all aspects, mind-body-spirit, and try to live my life with that value always as a top priority. I lean into uncomfortable emotions and conversations, and I learn from my hardships so that I can put focus and positive attention on moments in my present day, rather than the days behind me or ahead of me. If you resonate with any or all of this and feel like our paths crossing could be helpful in your healing, I’d be honored to come alongside you in that journey!
